UPPER WEST SIDE — Get your kids off their screens and embark on an adventure without leaving the neighborhood.
Here are some fun destinations to keep your little ones entertained during school recess:
Big Apple Circus
Damrosch Park, West 62nd Street between Columbus and Amsterdam avenues
Showtimes for The Big Apple Circus run at 12:30 and 4:30 p.m. every day through the end of school break, and then at various times until Jan. 10 when it ends its residency at Lincoln Center.
"The Grand Tour - A Circus Extravaganza!" show is an hour and fifty minutes long with a twenty minute intermission, featuring clowns, jugglers, acrobats, aerialists, rescue animals and more.
Tickets range from $25 to $175 for VIP seating.
Central Park Zoo
Southeast corner of Central Park, enter at East 65th Street and Fifth Avenue
Winter is a great time to visit the sea lions and the new 600-pound grizzly bears who joined the zoo family last January. Kids will have a chance to watch the sea lion and penguin feeding as well.
Tickets: $16.20 online and $18 at the gate for anyone older than 13; $11.70 online and $13 at the gate for children ages 3 to 12; $13.50 online and $15 at the gate for anyone over 65 years old; and children two years old and younger enter for free.

The JCC's "Winter Camp" offers sports, games, crafts, swimming, science, cooking, and other activities for 3 year olds from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 31 for $95 or $80 for members. Register here.
2537 Broadway at West 95th Street
Singer songwriter Sonia De Los Santos will perform from her new family album in Spanish and English and will be joined by Dan Zanes and his band. The new album "Mi Viaje: De Nuevo León to the New York Island" chronicles her life growing up in Mexico and moving to a new country.
Tickets are $15 or $13 for members. The hour-long performance starts at 11 a.m. on Jan. 2.
Children's Museum of Manhattan
212 W. 83rd St. between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue
No need to trudge to Times Square to create New Year's Eve excitement; the Children's Museum is hosting its own ball drop throughout the day on Dec. 31, at noon, 2 and 4 p.m. Dance parties and a parade will take place before and after the ball drops, organizers said.
Museum tickets, which include activities like the ball drop and other kids workshops, are $12 for children and adults; $8 for anyone over 65 and free for members and anyone under 12 months old.
Alice's Tea Cup
102 West 73rd St. near Columbus Avenue
Afternoon tea, complete with glitter and an Alice in Wonderland theme, will perk your kids right up. Plus, fairy wings will be available for kids to wear during the event.
The "Wee Tea" for children ages 2 to 12 is $26 per child and includes scones with clotted cream and jam, tea, juice, milk, grilled cheese, peanut butter and jelly and White Rabbit's dark chocolate mousse.
There are also vegan and gluten-free tea options.
