8 Subway Lines Affected by Service Changes This Weekend

NEW YORK CITY - Eight subway lines will be disrupted this weekend, while some of the changes will continue in the coming months.

3 Train:

Until winter 2016, 3 trains skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions.

For Rockaway Avenue service, free shuttle buses run to and from Saratoga Avenue, and B60 riders can transfer to and from shuttle buses at Rockaway Avenue. For Van Siclen Avenue service, free shuttle buses run to and from Pennsylvania Avenue station.

4 Train:

Until winter 2016, 4 trains will skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions.

A Train:

Starting at 12:01 a.m. Monday and running through spring 2016, Brooklyn-bound A trains will skip 80th Street and 111th Street.

For service to 80th Street, riders can take the A train to Grant Avenue and transfer there to an Ozone Park or Far Rockaway-bound A train. For service from 80th Street, riders can take the A to 88th Street and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A train.

For service to 111th Street, riders can take the A train to 104th Street and transfer there to a Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train, or take the Q112 bus during the days and evenings. For service from 111th Street, riders can take the A to Lefferts Boulevard and transfer there to a Brooklyn-bound A train.

A train station closures are part of an ongoing $39 million refurbishment project impacting 80th Street-Hudson Street, 88th Street-Boyd Avenue, Rockaway Boulevard, 104th Street-Oxford Avenue, and 111th Street-Greenwood Avenue, according to the MTA.

Repairs and upgrades are targeting stairs, floors, door, windows, walls and lighting at the stations, among other changes, the MTA said.

D Train:

From 11:30 p.m. Friday through 5:00 a.m. Monday, D trains will not run in both directions between Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center and 34th Street-Herald Square. Riders can take the F,N,Q,R trains or free shuttle buses for service to those stations.

D train will operate to and from the following stations:

D trains will run between Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue and Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center, with trains running express between 36th Street and Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center.

D trains will run between 36th Street-Herald Square and Norwood-205th Street.

Free shuttle buses will run between Grant Street and W 4th Street-Washington Square, and will stop at Broadway-Lafayette Street.

Riders wishing to travel between Manhattan and Brooklyn can take the NQ or the R train, and transfer between D and NQR trains at 34th Street-Herald Square, or at Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center.

Riders wishing to go to Grand Street can take a free shuttle bus, transferring between buses and trains at Broadway-Lafayette Street. They can also take the NQ or the R train at Canal Street.

F Train:

Until late December 2016, Jamaica-179th Street-bound F trains will skip Avenue X.

For service to this station, riders can take the Jamaica-bound F train to Avenue U and transfer to a Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue-bound F train. For service from this station, riders can take a Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue-bound F train to Neptune Avenue and transfer to a Jamaica-179th Street-bound F train.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday through 5:00 a.m. Monday, Jamaica-179th Street-bound F trains will skip 169th street.

L Train:

Until winter 2016, L trains will skip Atlantic Avenue in both directions. Riders wishing to go to and from this station can use free shuttle buses running to and from Broadway Junction.

N Train:

Astoria-bound N trains will be rerouted via the Q line from DeKalb Avenue to Canal Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:00 a.m. Saturday, from 11:00 p.m. Saturday through 6:00 a.m. Sunday, and from 11:00 p.m. Sunday to 5:00 a.m. Monday.

Astoria-bound N trains will run express from Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue to 59th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday.

N trains will run local in both directions between DeKalb Avenue and 59th Street in Brooklyn from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5:00 a.m. Monday.

R Train:

71st Avenue-bound R trains will be rerouted via the Q line between DeKalb Avenue and Canal Street from 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

R trains will not run in either direction between 59th Street and 36th Street in Brooklyn from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday, and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5:00 a.m. Monday. Riders can take the N train for service to affected stations, and can transfer between N and R trains at 59th Street.
