Kids Art Making
Where? Union Square Holiday Market
When? Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
How Much? $5 per child. 
Visit the Children's Museum of the Art’s gingerbread house booth in the Southwest portion of the Union Square Holiday Market for special holiday themed, hands-on art-making workshops with Children's Museum of the Arts Teaching Artists. Projects include wrapping paper decoration, holiday ornaments, paper snow globes, pop-up cards and more. 

The Secret World Inside You

Our bodies are home to approximately 100 trillion bacteria living inside us and on us — a vast community known as the microbiome. This new exhibition at the American Museum of Natural History explores the rapidly evolving science that is revealing the complexities of the human microbiome and reshaping our ideas about human health, offering new perspectives on common health problems including allergies, asthma, and obesity.

Watch author and illustrator Matthieu Maudet ("A Mammoth in the Fridge," "Hello, Doctor"), author and comic artist Pénélope Bagieu ("Exquisite Corpse," "Josephine"), Julia Rothman ("Hello NY") Marianne Dubuc ("The Lion and the Bird") and Magali Bonniol ("Cornebidouille") engage in a fast-paced battle of drawings. There will be free cookies too!

Learn about the ancient art of oil-pressing in an interactive olive pressing workshop, customize a doughnut, create your own bead design to add to the giant Dazzling Menorah, and experiment with vibrant ink and customizable stencils at the silk-screening workshop.

The Humans of Sesame Street

When? Sunday, 1 p.m.

Ever since Sesame Street went on the air in 1969, Jim Henson’s Muppets have shared their home with a cast of talented humans. In this very special gathering of Sesame Street’s long-time cast members, join Bob McGrath (Bob), Sonia Manzano (Maria), Emilio Delgado (Luis), Roscoe Orman (Gordon), Alan Muraoka (Alan), and Alison Bartlett (Gina) for a special afternoon of memories, music, and video clips, moderated by Craig Shemin, President of the Jim Henson Legacy. 

Sea Lion Feedings at Central Park Zoo
Where? Central Park Zoo, 64th Street & 5th Avenue, Central Park
When? Zoo hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feeding times are daily at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.
How Much? Zoo entry is $18 for adults, $13 for kids 3 to 12 years. Purchase online for discounts.
The feeding and training sessions help stimulate the curious and intelligent sea lions. Watch them eat more than usual — as they’re building up insulation for the cold weather.
