Saturday December 5
Operation Slumber
Where? Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, Pier 86, W. 46th St. and 12th Ave., Hell's Kitchen
When? From 6 p.m. to 8 a.m., December 5 (also December 12). 
How Much? $120 ($99 for museum members)
Experience life aboard a World War II aircraft carrier by spending a night aboard the Intrepid. The event includes educational activities, a visit inside the Space Shuttle Pavilion, a flashlight tour of the flight deck, a ride in a flight simulator and all meals (dinner, snacks and breakfast).  

Annual Christmas Tree and Neapolitan Baroque Crèche
Where? Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1000 5th Ave, Upper East Side
When? From 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Purchase advance tickets to avoid waiting in admission lines. 
How Much? Free with suggested museum admission of $25 for adults. Under 12 free. 
The Met continues a longstanding holiday tradition with the presentation of its Christmas tree, featuring a vivid 18th century Neapolitan Nativity scene.

Workshop: Building A Story
Where? Albertine Bookstore, 972 Fifth Avenue, Upper West Side
When? 11 a.m.
How Much? Free
Join French illustrator Matthieu Maudet for a special workshop and reading at Albertine Books. Children will be invited to help Maudet construct a story in real time as he creates drawings based on their suggestions.

Rock and Roll Music Workshops for Kids
Where? Brooklyn Bowl, 61 Wythe Ave., Williamsburg
When? 11 a.m to 12:15 p.m
How Much? $10 per person (child or adult). Children under 1 are free.
The Rock and Roll for Kids series is designed to keep children moving, playing and singing while simultaneously teaching developmental milestones and listening to classic tunes. Created by the Rock And Roll Playhouse, each workshop is 60 minutes long and is specifically designed for children 7 and under. Sunday’s theme is “90s for Little Rockers.”

Disney Classic Cartoon Shorts
Where? BAM, Peter Jay Sharp Building, 30 Lafayette Ave, Fort Greene
When? 2 p.m.
How Much? Adults $10, kids 12 and under $7. 
This selection of cartoons from the golden age of Disney are wonders of hand-drawn animation, showcasing the studio’s extraordinary technical innovations as well as iconic characters such as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy in some of their earliest screen appearances.

Hanukkah Family Day
Where? Jewish Museum, 1109 5th Ave at 92nd St, Upper East Side
When? 12 p.m. 
How Much? Free with museum admission
Celebrate the Festival of Lights with Hanukkah-themed arts and crafts, a live drawing performance by storyteller Jeff Hopkins, readings by actress Amanda Peet and co-author Andrea Toyer from their new Hanukkah-themed book, “Dear Santa, Love, Rachel Rosenstein” and a musical re-enactment of the Hanukkah story from kid rocker Shira Kline.
