Gaze Upon Flatiron's Kaleidoscope Sculpture Through the Eyes of Its Viewers

FLATIRON — Selfie takers and Instagrammers have flocked to snap photos of “Nova,” a temporary installation in the Flatiron pedestrian plaza that offers a kaleidoscopic panorama to people walking under it.

Nova was unveiled by the Flatiron Partnership/23rd Street BID last week and it will be on display through the holiday season. The pop-up installation was the brainchild of the firm SOFTlab, and was chosen as the winner of the Partnership’s annual design competition.

DNAinfo New York rounded up a few of the glittery, multicolored photos people have been ‘gramming of the exhibit:

Taken inside a new art installation near the Flatiron Building, the inside is made up of about a zillion colored reflective surfaces of various materials at different angles, and you can see reflections of the Flatiron Building and shadows and the lights of the city and people’s stunned faces.
