BOERUM HILL — A man was fatally shot in the back on a Boerum Hill street early Wednesday morning, police said.

The man, who had not been identified Wednesday morning but may be in his 30s, was shot in front of 280 Bergen St., near Third Avenue, about 3:19 a.m., NYPD officials said.

"The body was half on the sidewalk, half in the street. He was on his back. He wasn't moving. His legs were facing Nevins Street," said Shadi Qumbargi, 28, a worker at a nearby gas station.

"I didn't see blood or anything. Police came and blocked the whole street," he added.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

There were no immediate arrests, police said.
