LOWER EAST SIDE — Need some Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or other holiday gifts this season? Local businesses in the East Village and the Lower East Side have plenty to offer that'll help you whittle down your shopping list this season.
Uncle Goose Alphabet Blocks, $37 to $49
306 E. 9th St.
Dinosaur Hill has been selling one-of-a-kind toys for more than 30 years, like these brightly colored alphabet blocks that come in 20 different languages including Spanish, Arabic, Chinese and Swahili (classic ABC blocks are available, too). They're great for tiny tykes from multilingual families and parents who want to immerse their kid in another language.
Images of numbers, animals and objects are also printed on the blocks to help kids expand their vocabulary.
FLOWER ARRANGING CLASS FROM FLOWER GIRL NYC
Flower Arranging Class, $245
Flower Girl NYC
245 Eldridge St.
Led by owner Denise Porcaro — whose clients have included Vogue, Chanel and Coach — the classes teach participants how to choose, condition and arrange flowers. The class fee incudes supplies with clippers attendees can keep as well as refreshments and snacks.
Themed lessons, like how-to sessions for holiday centerpieces and floral crowns, are also available.
Bacon and Brew Combo, $30
148 Forsyth St.
This gift package is filled with beer and bacon-infused treats like the shop’s Beer Corn, a beer and pretzel caramel corn with candied mustard seeds, and its “Nasty Bits,” bacon caramel pretzel nuggets mixed in with chili-spiked peanuts and red chili flakes.
The combo, which is also available at Roni-Sue's Essex Street Market stall, comes in a brown box with a red ribbon tied around it.
