KIPS BAY — A drunk woman took a joyride in a stolen taxi, but then gave herself away by stopping to throw up on the street, according to the NYPD.

A witness spotted 27-year-old Kinga Tabares climbing into the driver's seat of a yellow cab shortly after midnight on Nov. 13, police said.

The circumstances regarding how and where she found the cab were not immediately clear.

After heading several blocks north in the cab, she stopped and vomited out of the driver's side door at 26th Street and Third Avenue, according to authorities.

When police approached her they noticed she smelled strongly of alcohol and had watery, bloodshot eyes, officials said.

Tabares, who hails from Los Angeles, was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where she refused to take a breath test, according to police.

Prosecutors charged Tabares with driving under the influence, grand theft auto and grand larceny. She was released after paying bail, and is due back in court on Nov. 19, court records show.

A lawyer for Tabares did not immediately return a request for comment.
