What Subway Lines Are Running This Weekend?

MIDTOWN — Service changes are coming to 13 subway lines and two shuttles this weekend as the MTA continues construction as part of its ongoing Capital Rebuilding Program. 

Here's what you need to know if you're planning on taking the subway this weekend.

Click on 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, A, C, D, F, L, N, Q, R, 42nd Street Shuttle or Rockaway Park Shuttle to jump to information about that line.

1 Line: Service will be suspended in both directions between 137 St and Van Cortlandt Park-242 St from Friday at 11:30 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m. Riders are advised to take the A/C trains or the M3 and M100 buses. Free shuttle buses will be provided. 

3 Line: 3 trains will skip Rockaway Ave and Van Siclen Ave in both directions until late December. Free shuttle buses will be provided to pick up the slack. For service to and from Rockaway Ave, passengers can ride a shuttle bus to and from Saratoga Ave at all times, and B60 bus customers can transfer to and from shuttle buses at Rockaway Ave. To and from Van Siclen Ave, riders are advised to hop on a shuttle bus at the Pennsylvania Ave station at all times. 

4 Line: 4 trains will not run between New Lots Ave and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall from Friday at 11:45 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday. The train will make all local stops between Woodlawn and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall. 3 trains will operate to and from New Lots Ave all weekend in place of the 4 train in Brooklyn, and passengers can take the 2 or 3 trains from Fulton St for service between Borough Hall and Franklin Ave. 

The 4 will also skip Rockaway Ave and Van Siclen Ave in both directions until late December.

5 Line: 5 service will be suspended in both directions between Bowling Green and Grand Central-42 St from 6 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Sunday. 

From 6 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, and from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Sunday, 5 trains will run every 20 minutes between Eastchester-Dyre Ave and Grand Central. 

7 Line: 7 trains will not run in either direction from Times Square-42 St and Queensboro Plaza from 12:15 a.m. Saturday to 4:30 a.m. Monday. Free shuttle buses will be provided, and they'll make all stops between Vernon Blvd-Jackson Ave and Queensboro Plaza. 

A Line: All Far Rockaway/Lefferts Blvd-bound A trains will skip 80 St and 111 St until Winter 2016. Riders are advised to transfer to Brooklyn-bound A trains to reach and leave these stations, though passengers can hop on the Q112 bus from 111 St.

This weekend only, from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Lefferts Blvd-bound A trains will skip 104 St.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, A trains will be rerouted through the F line both ways between West 4 S-Washington Sq and Jay St-MetroTech. 

A trains will run local in both directions between West 4 St-Washington Sq and 59 St-Columbus Circle from Friday 11:45 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m. 

C Line: C trains running in both directions between Jay St-MetroTech and West 4 St-Washington Sq will reroute through the F line from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. 

D Line: D trains will run local in both directions between West 4 St-Washington Sq and 34 St Herald Sq from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday. 

F Line: Jamaica-179 St-bound F trains will skip Avenue X until Winter 2015. Passengers can take a Jamaica-bound F to Avenue U and transfer to a Coney Island-bound F to get to Avenue X, and leave by riding a Coney Island-bound F to Neptune Ave and transferring trains. 

F train service will be suspended between Coney Island-Stillwell Ave and Kings Highway from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. 

L Line: L trains will skip Atlantic Ave in both directions until Winter 2016. Free shuttle buses will be provided to and from Broadway Junction at all times.

L trains will not run between Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway and Myrtle-Wyckoff Aves from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Free express and local shuttle buses will be available, with local buses stopping at East 105 St, New Lots Ave, Livonia Ave, Sutter Ave, Atlantic Ave, Broadway Junction, Bushwick Ave, Wilson Ave and Halsey St, and express buses serving Rockaway Parkway, Broadway Junction and Myrtle-Wyckoff Aves only.

N Line: From 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday, N trains will make stops at 53 St and 45 St. 

Q Line: From 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Q service will be extended to Astoria-Ditmars Blvd. 

R Line: 36 St-bound R trains will stop at 53 St and 45 St from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday, and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday. 

42 St Shuttle: From 12:01 a.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday to Monday, the shuttle will operate overnight. 

Rockaway Park Shuttle: Service will be suspended from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Free shuttle buses will provide service from Rockaway Park and Beach 67 St A station, making stops at Beach 105 St, Beach 98 St and Beach 90 St. Passengers can transfer between shuttle buses and A trains at Beach 67 St.
