BROWNSVILLE — The city is slated to open a new IDNYC pop-up enrollment center in Brooklyn this month to allow residents to sign up for a free municipal identification card.

The Brownsville Multi-Service Family Health Center at 592 Rockaway Ave. will host appointments starting Nov. 23 through Dec. 23.

The popular, government-issued ID offers perks to cardholders, including free memberships at 33 of the city’s museums and cultural centers and discounts on movie tickets and fitness centers.

Individuals can also use the card at select banks to open accounts. Residents ages 14 and older can apply.

The new Brooklyn location will be open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Appointments can be booked by calling 311 or registering online here.

After the program launched in January, applicants throughout the boroughs waited hours in line for IDNYC appointments and sessions were backlogged due to high demand.

There are currently 29 enrollment centers across the city, as well as several rotating pop-up locations.
