Friday, Nov. 13

Kimchi Smoke Pop-Up

Where: Rockaway Brewing Company, 46-01 5th St., Long Island City

Chef Rob Cho of Kimchi Smoke brings his Southern-influenced Korean cooking back to the brewery on Friday and Saturday from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Enjoy a pint along with one of his kimchi empanadas or a "chonut" — smoked brisket, bacon, cheese and a runny egg on a fried brioche roll that's doused in powdered sugar.

Saturday, Nov. 14

Help Spruce Up MacDonald Park

Where: MacDonald Park, Queens Boulevard between Yellowstone Boulevard and 70th Road, Forest Hills
When: 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Friends of MacDonald Park invite the Forest Hills community to plant shrubs, rake leaves, and clean up the park between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Help beautify the popular green space and prepare it for the long winter ahead. Gloves and refreshments will be provided. Students will receive community service credit.

Leaf Fest at Astoria Park

Where: Meet at the Field House near the track at Astoria Park, Astoria
When: 10 a.m.

Fourth Annual Momo Crawl

Where: Diversity Plaza, on 37th Road between 74th Street and Broadway, Jackson Heights
When: 2 p.m.

Take a tour through "Himalayan Heights" and try every momo — the Tibetan dumpling — at this annual crawl. You can exchange any denomination of one bill for a map to all of the delicious momos, which sell for $1 each during this trip. There will also be momo tattoos, henna painting and performances before the King of Momos is crowned. From 2 to 5 p.m.

Percussia's "Made in Queens"

Where: The Church-in-the-Gardens, 50 Ascan Ave., Forest Hills
When: 7:30 p.m.

This concert of chamber music, presented by Musica Reginae, will be comprised entirely of works written by Queens-based composers. Jackson Heights-based Percussia's repertoire is an eclectic mix of contemporary chamber music, world and popular music styles, as well as original arrangements. Its unusual instrumentation includes percussion, harp, flute, and viola. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students with ID. Children under 12 are admitted free.

Sunday, Nov. 15

1+2+3: Solos, Duos, and Trios for Greater New York

Where: MoMA PS1, 22-25 Jackson Ave., Long Island City
When: 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

A group of six New York musicians — on guitar, cello, trumpet, violin and more — will show off their improvisation skills during this music session made up of solo, duo and trio performances. The event runs from 1:30 to 6 p.m. and is part of the museum's Greater New York exhibit. Tickets are $15.

Kew Gardens Holiday Market

Where: The patio of Austin’s Ale House, 82-70 Austin St., Kew Gardens
When: Noon to 5 p.m.

If you are looking for unique holiday gifts, check out this market organized by local artists from noon to 5 p.m. Shoppers will find paintings and photographs, as well as a variety of handcrafted items like candles, knitwear, pottery and jewelry, including various Judaica ornaments. The rain date is Nov. 22.

Tour Historic Fort Totten

Where: Fort Totten Visitor Center at Fort Totten Park
When: 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Learn the history of Civil War-era Fort Totten with a tour from the Urban Park Rangers, who highlight various parks around the city. The Queens park was once a blockade and protector of Queens.

Rock Soup Fundraiser

Where: Beer Garden, Beach 87th Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard
When: 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Learn about this new initiative, which will focus on fundraising and supporting creative projects on the peninsula. There will be an opportunity to apply for micro-grants and collaborate with other peninsula people, with information shared over a meal from 3 to 5 p.m.
