CROWN HEIGHTS — Police are looking for a man they say stole cash and electronics from two Nostrand Avenue businesses in Crown Heights last week.

The man was caught on surveillance footage breaking into an electronic repair store at 591 Nostrand Ave. at the corner of Dean Street around 2:25 a.m. on Nov. 3, police said. He’s seen in the video prying open the roll-down gate on the storefront. Police said he then broke the shop’s glass door and removed seven cell phones and two laptops before taking off on foot.

Five nights earlier, police believe the same suspect broke into a restaurant on the avenue.

Police say the man pried open the security gate at Meme’s Healthy Nibbles, a cafe at 707 Nostrand Ave. near Park Place, around 2:00 a.m. on Oct. 29.

There, too, he broke the shop’s glass door, went inside and took $800 in cash, an iPad and an iPod Touch before fleeing, police said.

Overall, burglaries are down in the 77th Precinct, where the two crimes took place. The precinct has seen 219 burglaries this year through Nov. 1 — the most recently available data from the NYPD — which is a 13.4 percent drop from the 253 reported burglaries in the area during same time period last year.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
