CROWN HEIGHTS — The show must go on?

When we told you about an effort to shut down a two-day electronic music concert slated to take place at the Bedford-Union Armory in Crown Heights later this month, a lot of people gave props to the party.

The Time Warp Festival, a long-running techno event begun in Germany in 1994, is set for Nov. 20 and 21 at the armory, with tickets going for between $89 to $278 for the all-night event.

A local assemblymember, citing concerns from residents about parking and “potentially intoxicated” ravers, is pushing the city to cancel the event. Meanwhile, Time Warp’s organizers are moving ahead with the party as planned, saying they got proper approval from the city before starting to sell tickets.

Most people who commented on the story were all for Time Warp.

DJ Jan Hus told Brooklyn to “stop hating" in a Facebook post:

Just stop it Brooklyn. There are concerts and shows there regularly. Stop hating on Techno and it's fans. The show must go on! Time Warp Time Warp US

Time Warp fan GregSol defended the event in a post on Neighborhood Square, saying “TIme Warp is one of the most prestigious electronic music festival in the world” and, as a neighborhood resident, said he would “love to see half of the projects proposed for the Armory be as coherently organized.”

“Typical NIMBY bullsh-t,” another Neighborhood Square user said.

Twitter user @AdultRaverProbs had similar feelings:

Another Time Warp fan on Twitter suggested a diplomatic solution to keep the party going:

But opinions remained strong from locals who don’t want the festival in Crown Heights. Evelyn Tully Costa, a member of the Crown Heights South Association and longtime area resident, put it this way in a Neighborhood Square post:

“Let’s be HONEST: this would NEVER EVER EVER happen at the Park Slope Armory!!! … The Armory needs to be LANDMARKED and developed as a world class community, biz, sustainable energy center...again, it's time to STOP the DISRESPECT of our community and get on with the PROPER usage of this historical jewel in the Crown Heights!!!”

And as the city reviews the festival’s application at the armory, Time Warp reassured its panicked fans:
