It's a slice of rich and creamy deliciousness and it's 65 cents today.
To celebrate the diner's 65th anniversary, slices of plain New York-style cheesecake are on sale for less than the price of a soda at Junior's Restaurant in Downtown Brooklyn. You can order one by itself as takeout, or get it as dessert when you dine in and order an entree. A slice usually costs $6.95.
Junior's, which opened its doors at the intersection of DeKalb Avenue and the Flatbush Avenue extension on Election Day, 1950, hasn't changed its cheesecake recipe since 1951.
New York magazine pronounced Junior's cheesecake the best in the city after conducting a secret taste test in 1973.
