The New York City Marathon isn't just a test of physical endurance and will power; for some New Yorkers, it's an aphrodisiac.

According to Craigslist's "Missed Connections" connections page, Sunday's 26.2-mile race appears to have sparked a number of crushes.

One marathoner met a fellow runner at the "dreaded porter potty" and encountered him again on the L train. "I wanted to get your number but this lady who also ran wouldn't shut up," she wrote in a post to him, suggesting they "run together sometime."

Another marathoner is seeking a male runner who "made strong eye contact" with him around mile 16 in Midtown. The caveat to that flirtatious encounter: "You were with your wife."

Sparks flew on the sidelines, too.

volunteer who manned the 25-mile water station in Central Park regrets that he didn't get another his fellow volunteer's number. A man driving by the marathon course in Bay Ridge eyed a female cop he assumed was patrolling the perimeter: "I drove by slow, waves and smiled..." he wrote. "You did the same."

A woman riding the A train after the race took a fancy to a British marathoner she met at the 14th Street stop. (We assume she's into the sweaty jock type.)  "I think if we'd had a little more time we'd have gotten each other's info," she said in her post. "If you're in the city a few days more let's meet for a drink."

If only the road to love were as easily mapped as the route to the marathon's finish line
