3 Food Cart Vendors Robbed at Gunpoint in Brooklyn and Queens, Police Say

EAST NEW YORK — Police are hunting four suspects wanted for robbing food cart vendors at gunpoint in South Ozone Park and East New York last week, authorities said. 

Almost $700 in cash was stolen from three vendors between Oct. 21 and 22. A suspect would brandish a gun and the group would demand money from the vendors, police said. 

In the first incident, which took place Oct. 21 at 11:30 p.m., the four men approached a vendor standing at Rockaway Parkway and Lefferts Boulevard and fled with $300.

Later that night, at 12:45 a.m., they robbed a cart in front of 113-18 Liberty Ave. in Queens and made away with $200. 

The final incident took place at 2:25 a.m. on Oct. 22 when the group robbed a vendor at Pitkin Avenue and Euclid Avenue in East New York and took $190, police said.

The suspects possibly fled in a light-colored minivan, authorities said. Police have released photos and video of the group.
