PARK SLOPE — There's an extra letter in the name, but it still sounds delicious to sandwich lovers.
City Subs, a new version of the beloved City Sub, opened last week at 82 Fifth Ave. and Warren Street, Grub Street first reported.
The shop's co-owner is a former City Sub employee and he says he'll serve the same bread and meat pairings that made City Sub a beloved neighborhood institution for 28 years until it closed in 2014.
Other recent comings and goings on the restaurant and retail scene include:
► Macaron Parlour, a seasonal pop-up shop serving macarons and other sweet treats, opened Oct. 23 at 808B Union St. near Seventh Avenue. The shop will be open for the next six months and will serve Harney & Sons tea, Counter Culture coffee and macarons with specialty flavors including apple cider caramel, candied bacon with maple cream cheese, Cheetos, and fig, a spokeswoman said.
The shop also has locations in the East Village and on the Upper West Side.
► 5ive Spice, a Vietnamese restaurant serving banh xeo tacos, opened at 52 Fifth Ave., Here's Park Slope reported.
► The Cobble Hill women's boutique Neda has opened a Park Slope outpost at 233 Fifth Ave. near Carroll Street, the store announced on Facebook.
► The owner of Kiwi, the Seventh Avenue women's clothing shop, has opened a men's clothing store called fig. at 121 Seventh Ave., near Carroll Street, Park Slope Stoop reported.
► The Cobble Hill home goods store Duman Home opened its new Park Slope location at 139 Fifth Ave. near St. John's Place, the shop announced on Twitter.
