The pigeons, rats and squirrels who live among us do eat well. We all know rats indulge in a slice whenever they can. Squirrels will sip milkshakes and even steal a tomato if the opportunity presents itself. Sometimes rats even dine on pigeons when they manage to drag them home.
So when this pigeon decided to don a bagel —or perhaps, when someone decided to taunt this animal by putting a half-eaten baked good on it — it was the natural marriage of two very New York things.
