One man's abandoning the idea of online dating and going old school.

The 49-year-old Queens man, who calls himself Giuseppe, stuck a handwritten ad "looking for a relationship" on a lamp post in Rego Park.

“I have a good job I like to go on vacation go dancing diner movie play sports,” the ad reads. “I like to meet somebody who looking for about the same thing ages 38 to 53. Only women.”

Giuseppe, who did not want his last name used, said in a phone interview Friday that he chose this way of searching for a love match because he doesn't have internet access.

An Italian-American and a construction worker from Middle Village, Giuseppe said he placed the ad on Wednesday and received about 10 calls since, but so far none have led to a date.

Local resident and historian Michael Perlman spotted the ad on the corner of Queens Boulevard and 63rd Road earlier this week and posted a picture of it on a neighborhood Facebook page, where numerous members weighed in.

Some expressed their support and lauded Giuseppe’s ingenuity.

“I wish him well. He’s original, that’s for sure,” one member wrote.

“Ahh lamp post.. The original social media,” wrote another.

“Sending him good vibes! Hope he meets someone special. He seems sweet,” still another person posted.

Others worried that it may be a prank.

"The old fashioned way to harass someone was to take their phone number and plaster it all over the place without the owner's permission and for months later they would receive calls," one page user wrote.

Perlman hopes Giuseppe's efforts will pay off.

“I applaud Giuseppe on his originality, and I hope he will find a match that is genuine,” Perlman wrote in an email to DNAinfo. “Sometimes a person is quite lonely (which may be how he feels), and they need to resort to creative measures beyond online dating and social gatherings.”

"I'm looking for a real relationship where we can get to know each other," Giuseppe said.
