Back in 2003, when the High Line was a still a rusted railway covered in weeds, Friends of the High Line put out an open call for innovative ideas for the future public space.
They got 720 pitches from 36 countries.
In a slightly dated, very geeky shout out to Back to the Future Day on Wednesday (the day Marty McFly and Doctor Emmett Brown travel back to 2015 the second Back to the Future movie) Friends of the High Line released a handful of the most bizarre ideas from their archives.
