Some happy news for New York University students and Greenwich Village denizens who like seeing famous people: Pharrell Williams is this year's artist-in-residence at the Tisch School of the Arts.
“Pharrell is just the kind of artist and entrepreneur that many of our students aspire to become," said Allyson Green, dean of Tisch School of the Arts, in a statement.
Williams will be the focus of a "career retrospective discussion" and Q&A event on Oct. 26, but the event is only open to school students, faculty and staff. NYU said future events are in the works.
Williams is just one of many celebrities drawn to NYU. Here are a few others:
Karlie Kloss
Former Victoria's Secret angel Karlie Kloss was nervous on her first day of school this year, proving that celebrities really are just like us. (If we were taller, perfectly toned, and our hair looked like spun gold.)
John Catsimatidis, Jr.
The son of New York City's almost-mayor/grocery store mogul/oil baron John Catsimatidis graduated from NYU just last year, and is now stumping for Jeb! as the chair of the New York Federation of College Republicans.
Gigi Hadid
Gigi Hadid, daughter of everyone's favorite Real Housewife of Beverly Hills, is in her junior year at NYU where, she told the New York Post, her classmates don't notice her because "I kind of go to school in, like, a sweatshirt and sweatpants."
