UNION SQUARE — A man tried to sexually assault a 63-year-old woman inside a Union Square bathroom Sunday afternoon — but she fended off the attack by biting him on the hand, police sources said.

The woman was inside a bathroom on East 17th Street near Union Square East about 1:15 p.m. when the attacker came in and tried to attack her, police said.

“He entered the bathroom stall and basically requested that she perform a sexual act on him,” a law-enforcement source said.

She bit him on the left hand and he took off, sources added.

The suspect is described as a male in his 30s who was wearing an Army green jacket at the time of the incident. He has short hair and a full beard, police sources said.

The victim was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.
