ROSSVILLE — A teen was arrested after he allegedly shot three people with a paintball gun, prosecutors said.

Joseph Martinelli, 18, was arrested on Thursday for allegedly shooting the people with paintballs in separate incidents in September and October, prosecutors said.

In the first attack, Martinelli allegedly shot the gun out of a car and hit two people in the back of the head in front of 813 Rossville Ave. on Sept. 25 at about 11 p.m., prosecutors said.

On Oct. 14, Martinelli shot another person in the back near the intersection of Foster and Woodrow roads at about 11:30 p.m., causing welts to the victim's back and shoulder, prosecutors said.

The victim saw Martinelli drive off in a car, and police later arrested him at about 12:30 p.m. and found a gravity knife in the center console of the car, prosecutors said.

Martinelli was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment, the Staten Island District Attorney's office said.

He was released without bail after his arraignment and is due back in court on Dec. 9, according to online court records. His lawyer could not be reached for comment.

In July, three other teens were arrested after they shot six people with paintball guns on Staten Island.
