UNION SQUARE — There will be no 6 train service south of 14th Street-Union Square during Friday evening rush hour, due to malfunctioning subway equipment, MTA says.
Officials said a broken gap filler along the Lexington Avenue line will force straphangers looking for service to Astor Place, Bleecker Street, Spring Street and Canal Street to take the 4 or 5 train to Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall, and then transfer to uptown local service.
The issue will also delay all 4 and 5 trains, officials said.
Officials did not immediately have information on when regular service would be restored.
