Two-Alarm Fire Breaks Out In Prospect-Lefferts Gardens Apartment Building

PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS — Firefighters battled a two-alarm fire Friday evening on the top floor of a Hawthorne Street apartment building, an FDNY spokesman said.

The flames broke out on the seventh floor of 265 Hawthorne St. around 6:30 p.m., according to the FDNY's Twitter account. No injuries were initially reported, fire officials said. 

It took firefighters around 45 minutes to put out the flames, according to the FDNY's Twitter account.

The cause of the fire was not immediately clear.
