IDNYC Pop-Up Site Opens in Elmhurst Church Through November

By Katie Honan | October 16, 2015 9:59am

ELMHURST — A local church will host a pop-up registration site for the city's new municipal ID card.

St. James Church, at 84-07 Broadway, will host the signups for the IDNYC card Tuesdays to Saturdays through Nov. 13, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The event is organized by City Mission, a local civic group.

The city's IDNYC program launched in January and was so popular the city had a hard time keeping up with demand.

New Yorkers waited on hours-long lines just to register for appointments, which often weren't until months later.

The city has since helped make the program more available by opening additional centers and various pop-ups around the city.
