CROWN HEIGHTS — A 19-year-old was arrested this week for forcibly trying to steal a deliveryman’s moped and then attacking a Good Samaritan who tried to call the police, according to the NYPD.

The teen confronted the 45-year-old delivery worker around 1 p.m. Sunday as he was taking food to 250 Crown St. between Rogers and Nostrand avenues, police said. He grabbed the man by the throat and demanded money from him, then asked for the keys to his moped.

The 45-year-old dropped the keys. When the teen couldn’t figure out how to ride off with the motorized bike, he fled into the apartment building. There, he grabbed a 44-year-old man who had witnessed the attack, demanding, “Why did you call the police?” according to the police report.

He was later arrested and has been charged with assault and menacing, court records show.
