CROWN HEIGHTS — Police have identified a fourth man they believe is connected to a gang-related shooting last month that killed one of Governor Andrew Cuomo's staffers.
The police department released surveillance footage on Tuesday of a young man wanted for questioning in the Labor Day shooting that fatally wounded 43-year-old Carey Gabay, general counsel at the Empire State Development Corp. in the Cuomo administration.
Gabay was shot in the head in the early morning hours of Sept. 7 outside of the Ebbets Field apartments on Bedford Avenue in Crown Heights during the pre-West Indian Day Parade event J’Ouvert. Officials later said the violence was the result of a gang dispute and that Gabay was not the intended target.
He succumbed to his injuries 10 days later and was laid to rest in a funeral service on Sept. 26.
The video released by the NYPD Tuesday shows the wanted man walking in a group of people wearing a button-down sweater, glasses and a backwards baseball cap.
The department has already identified three men wanted for questioning in the shooting, previously releasing a sketch of one suspect and a video of two others seen carrying guns shortly after the shooting.
No suspects have been identified in the killing and no arrests have been made.
