MANHATTAN — A woman took off with a cab driver's wallet as she slipped out of the car near Union Square without paying her fare, police said.

A 21-year-old woman took a cab to Union Square at roughly 7 p.m. on Saturday. As the car pulled over to let her out, she called to a passerby to let him know the taxi was about to be free, police said.

When the man climbed into the cab, distracting the driver, Cooper fled without paying her fare, police said.

Once she was gone, the driver noticed that his wallet was also missing from the center console, according to authorities.

The woman was found lingering nearby with a friend shortly after the incident and was arrested. Police said they found $300 stashed in her bra — the same amount of money reported missing from the driver's wallet.

She was charged with grand larceny. Information regarding an attorney or a court date was not immediately available.
