MIDTOWN — Police released sketches of a group of people who attacked and hurled anti-gay slurs at a mother and daughter inside of a Midtown restaurant earlier this month.
The victim, 27, was eating dinner with her mother, 46, inside BarKogi restaurant, at 957 Second Ave., around 1 a.m. on Sept. 12, when a group of two women and a man started their verbal attacks, police said.
They started muttering about them, calling them lesbians, and then threw a balled-up wet napkin at them, the victims told the Daily News. The mother then stood up and confronted the group, according to the report.
That's when the group started attacking the pair, throwing the daughter to the ground and dragging her across the room, according to police.
The daughter, who got a cut on her knee from the attack, was treated at NYU Langone Medical Center, police said.
Surveillance footage from outside the restaurant shows the three suspects, including a balding and bearded man in his 40s, standing roughly 5-foot-8 and wearing a long-sleeved shirt and jeans.
One woman is described as being in her mid 30s, standing approximately 5-foot-7, with dirty blonde hair and wearing a light shirt, black pants and light-colored high-heel boots.
Police describe the second woman as being in her mid 30s, standing roughly 5-foot-7, with long, wavy black hair and wearing a white tank top, black pants and black high-heel boots.
The NYPD Hate Crimes Unit is investigating the attack, police said.
