By Katie Honan | September 21, 2015 12:11pm

ELMHURST — The city will spray neighborhoods in Brooklyn and Queens Monday night for West Nile virus as a 11th human case has been reported, officials said.

In Brooklyn, spraying will be conducted in Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill, Downtown Brooklyn and Fort Greene between 8:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. Tuesday morning, Department of Health officials posted on their website.

In Queens, Astoria, Ditmars, Steinway, Blissville, Elmhurst, Sunnyside, Maspeth, Middle Village, West Maspeth, Ridgewood, and Woodside will also get sprayed until 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Officials will use Anvil 10+10 (Sumithrin) pesticide, and urged residents to stay indoors, close vents on AC units and move children’s toys inside while the pesticide, which should kill mosquitoes carrying the virus, is sprayed.

NYPD vehicles will accompany the trucks that disperse the pesticide, announcing that spraying is taking place.

Last week, the 11th human case of West Nile was reported, in Queens. It's not immediately clear where in the borough the case was found.

A man from Howard Beach was treated for the virus in August, the city's 10th case, according to a report in the Queens Chronicle.

Mosquitoes carrying West Nile were discovered on Staten Island and in Queens in July. The first case of the virus was announced in August.
