LOWER EAST SIDE — The parents who kidnapped their own 10-year-old daughter after losing custody surrendered to police on Thursday following a citywide hunt for the child, police said.

Jaqueline Hendricks, 39, and Carlos Hicks, 42, were arrested and charged with custodial interference, police said. Hicks was also charged with aggravated harassment, according to the NYPD.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert for their daughter, Celine Melanie Hicks, after her mother picked her up from school Wednesday afternoon, even though she did not have custody of the child.

The child's aunt is the legal guardian and police would not say why the parents lost custody of the child.

Police located Celine after her parents called an attorney, who arranged for their surrender, according to the NYPD. Information about their attorney was not immediately available.

Celine was in good condition when she was located, according to the NYPD.
