LOWER EAST SIDE — Police located a missing 10-year-old girl who was kidnapped when her mother — who does not have custody of the child — picked her  up from school Wednesday afternoon, according to the NYPD.

An Amber Alert was issued Thursday morning for Celine Melanie Hicks, who was last seen at Castle Middle School wearing a yellow shirt with the school’s name embroidered on the front at about 1 p.m., police said. Hicks is 5-foot-4 with brown eyes and black hair and weighs 120 pounds, police said. It was unclear when and where Hicks was found.

Prior to the alert, Hicks had last been seen with her mother, 39-year-old Jacqueline Hendricks, who is 5-foot-5 with a medium build, brown eyes and brown hair, according to the NYPD.

Police believed Hicks was with Hendricks and 42-year-old Carlos Hicks, according to the Amber alert. The suspects may have been operating a 1993 white Chevrolet Lumia with New Mexico registration and may have been in The Bronx or heading to New Mexico, according to the alert.

Anyone with information about Hicks’ disappearance is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS or visit its website.
