RED HOOK — New renderings have been released for Red Hook's 1.1 million square-foot office complex and "manufacturing collective."
Raft Architects unveiled its designs for the massive Est4te Four development on its website Wednesday in a proposal that "focuses on the transformation of a major portion of Red Hook's waterfront."
The project, which they call "Red Hook Piers" or "ReHoP," will host a number of manufacturing facilities as well as a marine education institute that utilizes the Atlantic Basin. On Est4te Four's website, the project is referred to as "The Red Hook Innovation Studios."
They're also planning to include outlets for design, fashion, furniture and food companies, a hotel and several interconnected open public spaces that will extend a mile to the Brooklyn Greenway, according to its website.
While a set of renderings from NBBJ were released for the same project last year, Est4te Four's current plans were released by Raft Architects.
But for the project to move forward, the Italian developer requires a partner who would invest at least $100 million, Crain's New York reported last month. The investor should be willing to acquire a 49 percent stake in it.
Est4te Four as funneled about $61 million into buying the six properties for the development but they need an extra $400 million to actually build the waterfront complex, accoring to Crain's.
