This cocktail has a delayed effect on you.
Train's a Comin' — a 7 train inspired cocktail — is now being shaken up at Porchlight Bar, at 271 Eleventh Ave., just a few blocks south from the brand new 7 train stop, in honor of its opening.
The potent drink mixes cognac, vermouth, lemon juice, crème yvette and concord grape juice. Its vibrant purple hue recalls the 7 train's emblematic logo.
Porchlight's head bartender Nick Bennett dreamed up the concoction that combines the Sazerac — a Southern cocktail heavy with Cognac, with the Aviation which mixes gin, maraschino liqueur and lemon juice and is more common in the north.
