UPPER WEST SIDE — A woman attending a local church had her wallet snatched during the service, police said.

At around 12 p.m. Sunday, a man reached into the purse of a 33-year-old woman attending a worship service at Good Shepherd-Faith Presbyterian Church and stole her wallet, police said.

The woman's wallet contained $40, her New York City benefit card, and a Medicaid card, among other items, police said.

Police did not have any further description of the suspect.

The church, which is located at 152 West 66th St. between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue did not immediately return request for comment.

In June, a woman had her purse stolen at another local church, the Fourth Universalist Society, police said.
