UPPER WEST SIDE — A woman volunteering at a local church had her purse snatched after leaving it on a pew, police said.

The 60-year-old woman was volunteering at Fourth Universalist Society, a Unitarian Universalist church on Central Park West between West 76th and 77th streets, on the evening of June 3.

She left her purse, which held her credit cards and her iPhone 5, on a pew during her shift, which ran from 6:30 to 11 p.m., police said.

When the woman returned, her bag was gone, along with her phone and credit cards, police said.

The cards were not charged, police said.

Staff members from the church did not immediately return request for comment.
