BROOKLYN — Police are offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of a man suspected of raping a woman in Canarsie last weekend.

The attack happened on Rockaway Parkway between Avenue M and Avenue N as the victim was walking home from work a little after midnight Sunday, according to the NYPD.

At a press conference at One Police Plaza yesterday, Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said that the suspect, who police think may have committed another rape Saturday evening, is believed to live in the area where the midnight assault occurred.

The NYPD will deploy the Crime Stoppers vans to Canarsie in hopes that displaying pictures of the suspect will lead to his arrest, Chief Boyce said.

Police said the suspect is a slim man who is 5-foot-6 and in his early twenties. He was wearing a white tank top and white and blue Hawaiian shorts at the time of the crime, according to the NYPD.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
