BROOKLYN — Police arrested a homeless man accused of knocking a woman's teeth out during a gunpoint rape earlier this month in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

Kareem David, 28, was charged Thursday with rape and assault for attacking the 52-year-old woman on the outdoor stairwell of a Bed-Stuy building on Aug. 17, police said.

The victim was walking near Putnam Street and Bedford Avenue at about 3 a.m. when David, whom she'd never met before, pulled a gun on her and said he'd shoot her if she didn't follow him, police said.

David brought her to a building off of Lefferts Place where he shoved his fingers down her throat and raped her, police said.

The woman lost two teeth in the attack and was taken to an area hospital in stable condition, police said.

Police later released surveillance video of David, who was bit in the hand during the attack.
