Steve Colbert fans, rejoice: while "The Colbert Report" ended in December 2014, the bespectacled talk show host is returning to TV this September in "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," airing Tuesdays on CBS. Better yet, free tickets to live October tapings are now available.

To reserve your tickets, simply head to Showclix and select the live taping date you'd like to attend on the event calendar. You'll then be required to fill out necessary information, and voila — you have reserved your seats.

However, the site reminds Colbert fans that since all shows are overbooked to ensure capacity, a reservation does not guarantee entry. The site therefore recommends that reservation holders arrive at the venue — the Ed Sullivan Theater, 1697 Broadway — early, as tickets are given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

Additionally, Colbert fans must be at least 18 years old and bring a government-issued photo ID with them to the taping, according to the site.

While smaller bags such as purses are permitted, backpacks, luggage and shopping bags are not allowed, nor is the use of electronic devices in the theater.

Guests should dress as if "your mom might see you on TV," and be mindful of the fact that neither food nor drink is allowed in the theater, and that once you enter, you must stay for the duration of the taping.

While the recently released roster of the show's first guests is certainly impressive — George Clooney, Scarlett Johansson and Kendrick Lamar are slated to pay Colbert a visit — people interested in taking part are reminded that they can only attend one taping every six months, and that they cannot transfer their tickets for another date.

Individuals with further questions about the reservation process are encouraged to shoot an e-mail to thelateshow-audience@CBS.com.
