THE BRONX — The woman accused of starving her autistic uncle to death spent years working as a certified home health aide, according to a State Health Department database.

Naisia Norman, 22, was arraigned on charges of manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide on Wednesday for starving her autistic uncle to death, according to the Bronx District Attorney's office.

State records show that she was a certified home health aide and worked at InterGen Health in The Bronx from Oct. 6, 2011 until Aug. 19, 2015, the day of her arraignment.

Despite the charges Norman is now facing regarding the death of her uncle, James Thompson, 42, no information was reported to the state registry about her regarding abuse or mistreatment, according to the database.

InterGen and the State Health Department did not respond to requests for comment.
