EAST HARLEM — A prisoner who shoved an officer to the ground in East Harlem and escaped over the weekend was caught Wednesday morning, police said.
Investigators tracked Austin Stevenson, 25, to East New York where he was arrested about 6 p.m., according to the NYPD.
Stevenson, who has 18 sealed prior arrests and three more for robbery and drug possession, was arrested for trespassing at 160 East 103rd St. over the weekend. While being transported to the station house, he knocked an officer to the ground and ran away, police said.
Stevenson was the third man to escape from police custody in Harlem this summer.
Tareek Arnold, 23, also shoved an officer and ran while being transferred from the 32nd Precinct on June 23. He was captured in Harlem about a month later.
Arthur Collins, 57, somehow managed to escape barefoot from a holding cell in the 25th Precinct. He turned himself in on July 27, three days later.
