"Cruel Summer" 80s Dance Party

Where: The Bell House, 149 Seventh St., Gowanus

Bust a move to celebrate the decade that brought the world hits by A-ha, Bananarama, Berlin, Cameo, The Cars, The Cure, The Eurythmics — and that’s just the beginning of the alphabet. Tickets are $10 and the party starts at 8 p.m.

► A Salute to August Wilson: 70th Anniversary

Where: Restoration West Plaza, 1368 Fulton St., Bedford-Stuyvesant

Bed-Stuy’s Billie Holiday Theatre celebrates the American playwright with a series of curated works every Friday in August. The free tribute kicks off with “The Women of August Wilson” this Friday at 6 p.m.

All-Day Mural Painting at Atlantic Yards

Where: Dean Street between Carlton and Vanderbilt avenues, Prospect Heights

"Broad City" illustrator Mike Perry will lead 10 artists in an all-day mural painting event to cover the 16-foot-tall construction fence around the Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park development with original artwork. While the artists work, residents are invited to a corresponding street fair with music, food and activities for kids from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Tap+Cork: Brooklyn Beer & Wine Fest

Where: Restoration Plaza, 1368 Fulton St., Bedford-Stuyvesant

Sample dozens of drinks for just $20 at the third annual Brooklyn Beer & Wine Fest, featuring more than 45 varieties of craft beers and artisanal wines. The musical theme of the festival is "Bad Boy vs. Roc-A-Fella," so get psyched to enjoy your drinks with tunes from each record labels’ artists. Tickets are $20 in advance online and $30 at the door. The event runs from 2 to 8 p.m.

The Art of Pho    

Where: Court Tree Collective, 371 Court St., Carroll Gardens

Head to Court Tree Collective for a one-night dinner pop-up called “The Art of Pho,” coming back for its second time in the neighborhood. The four-course meal will feature lamb pho, rice paper salad and coconut sweet rice. The seating is priced at $50 per person. The event takes place from 5 to 10 p.m.

Free Outdoor Performance of “Much Ado About Nothing”

Where: Fifth Avenue and Dean Street, Park Slope

South Brooklyn Shakespeare will perform this comedy on the streets of Park Slope as part of the Park Slope Fifth Avenue BID’s North Slope Summer Stroll. In addition to the free Shakespeare, the Summer Stroll event will include a bounce house, juggling, street chess and vintage cars. The show starts at 6:30 p.m.

Universal Hip-Hop Parade for Social Justice    

Where: Lafayette and Marcy avenues, Marcus Garvey Boulevard, and Fulton Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant

Celebrate hip-hop culture and pay tribute to political activist Marcus Garvey at the 15th annual Universal Hip-Hop Parade for Social Justice. Check out graffiti artists, breakdancers, and other performers throughout the route. Businesses and organizations along the way will be handing out various freebies. The event will take place between 3 and 7 p.m.

Wash Ave Rocks! Street Fair

Where: Washington Avenue from Prospect Place to St. Marks Avenue, Prospect Heights

A pooch parade, pop-up beer garden and food tasting will be on tap for the annual Washington Avenue street fair, Wash Ave Rocks! put on by the local merchant association and the Pratt Area Community Council. Come on down for live music, good window shopping and free performances from a local martial arts group. The fun will last from noon to 6 p.m.
