UPPER WEST SIDE — A pair of thieves swiped $1,400 worth of medicine from a Duane Reade last month, police said.

The suspects took bottles of Aleve, Motrin, Bayer and Claritin from the shelves of the drugstore at 325 Columbus Ave., near West 75th Street, on July 24 at 4 a.m., police said.

The men loaded the bottles into a bag and fled the store without paying, police said.

Over-the-counter medications have been a common target of shoplifters on the Upper West Side.

On May 24, two men stole $2,070 worth of Advil and Nexium, a heartburn medication, from the shelves of a Duane Reade at Broadway and West 70th Street, police said.
