
CARROLL GARDENS — A platinum ring worth more than $11,000 was stolen from a Carroll Gardens apartment along with a laptop and thousands of dollars in jewelry, authorities said.
Thieves broke into a Second Place apartment on July 23 between 1 and 4:30 p.m. by forcing open the front door of the 37-year-old woman's home, according to the police report.
The stolen property included a ring valued at $11,937, sapphire diamond earrings valued at $438, assorted jewelry worth $5,000 and an Apple laptop pegged at $1,400, according to police.
Other notable crimes in the 76th Precinct, according to police, include:
► A 33-year-old man was assaulted by two men while walking home July 28 around 9:40 p.m on Second Place. One of the thieves said, "Give me your phone. I'm going to punch you," according to the report. The victim was then placed in a headlock and the thieves fled with his iPhone 5S worth $500.
