MORRIS PARK — Bronx residents will get a chance to twist again this month, like they did last summer.
Chubby Checker, the famed musician behind "The Twist," one of the most iconic rock songs of the 20th century, will perform a show in Loreto Park on Aug. 26 at 7 p.m. as part of State Sen. Jeff Klein's series of free concerts and movies running from early August to early September.
"We're going to come to town, we're going to light the fire, burn it up and go home," Checker said in a statement. "Come on down. You'll have a great time."
This year's lineup also features performances by Engelbert Humperdinck on Aug. 18 at 8 p.m. in Seton Park and by The Bronx Wanderers on Aug. 7 at 7 p.m. in Veterans Memorial Park.
Families will also get the chance to see some free movies, including "Jurassic Park" on Aug. 12 in Loreto Park and "The Lion King" on Sept. 5 in Seton Park. All films begin at dusk.
