WEST VILLAGE — A radiology technician in the middle of taking X-rays of a patient at Lenox Health hospital's Greenwich Village location was suddenly attacked by the patient's girlfriend, according to sources and court documents.

The 29-year-old female X-ray tech was working at Lenox Health Greenwich Village at 30 Seventh Ave. South at 2:30 a.m. on July 16, when the woman barged into the x-ray room and began to attack her, sources said.

The 21-year-old attacker grabbed the radiology tech by her hair and threw her to the ground, sources said, bruising her knees. She punched her in the face over and over, leaving her face, ear and neck bloody, scratched and bruised, sources said.

The hospital attack came just hours after a domestic violence incident between the attacker and her girlfriend, according to court records.

The attacker had punched her girlfriend in the face and neck, leaving her bloody, swollen and in pain, during the 10 p.m. incident, according to a criminal complaint.

The attacker was arraigned Thursday on multiple counts of assault, including a felony charge for assaulting a hospital worker while the worker was doing her job, according to the complaint.

She was ordered held on $1,000 bond or $500 cash bail. Court records show that she was previously arrested for domestic violence in May, but was released with a temporary restraining order.

She is due back in court on Aug. 5. Her attorney declined to comment.

A spokeswoman for Lenox Hill Hospital, which operates Lenox Health Greenwich Village (the free-standing emergency room where St. Vincent's used to be) did not respond to an email request for comment.
