Gigawatts Festival

Where: The Wick, The Well and Our Wicked Lady in East Williamsburg
When: Times vary

More than 80 artists and musicians will be invading industrial East Williamsburg this weekend, with shows from Friday to Sunday at three local bars. Bands in the festival have historically been local, but this year, Gigawatts has pumped things up. National and New York bands will be rocking the three stages. Tickets cost $30 for a one day pass, $60 for a three day pass.

Saturday, July 25

Celebrating Red Hook

Where: Erie Basin Park, 1 Beard St., Red Hook
When: 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Celebrate Red Hook with dozens of local businesses, artisans and makers who will be presenting their wares for sampling and purchase. The vendors include Cacao Prieto, Avon, Fort Defiance, Fairway, Hot Wood Arts, Jewelry by Joyce, She-Weld and several others.

Free Storytelling on Brooklyn Then & Now

Where: Gil Hodges Community Garden, 534 Carroll St., Gowanus
When: 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

New York Restoration Project partners with Elders Share the Arts and the Brooklyn Academy of Music for this free event, in which three longtime Brooklyn residents tell stories of the borough’s past, with a discussion afterward.

Pete’s Mini-Zine Fest

Where: Pete’s Candy Store, 709 Lorimer St., Williamsburg
When: 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

This local bar will be packed with zines on Saturday for the annual mini-zine fest. More than two dozen zines and their creators will be in the bar to chat about their work and to sell their work. Admission is free.

Free Outdoor Performance of “Much Ado About Nothing”

Where: Fifth Avenue between 17th and 18th streets, Park Slope
When: 6:30 p.m.

South Brooklyn Shakespeare presents this free performance of “Much Ado About Nothing” on the streets of Park Slope. It’s part of the South Slope Summer Stroll sponsored by Park Slope’s Fifth Avenue BID.

Outdoor Screening of “Do the Right Thing,” with pizza

Where: City Reliquary Museum, 370 Metropolitan Ave., Williamsburg
When: 8:30 p.m.

As part of an ongoing pizza exhibit, the City Reliquary Museum is hosting an outdoor screening of the classic Spike Lee film “Do the Right Thing.” Besides the movie, locals can enjoy Two Boots Pizza (which is included with the ticket price), beer that's available for purchase and movie trivia before the sun goes down. Tickets cost $10.

Stuyvesant Heights Expansion Tour

Where: Throughout Stuyvesant Heights, Bed-Stuy
When: 5:30 p.m.

Learn about Bedford-Stuyvesant’s brownstones and architectural history in a tour of the expanded Stuyvesant Heights Historic District. The original district was designated in 1971 and an expansion was added on in 2013. Explore cultural highlights of both areas with the help of architectural historian Suzanne Spellen and architect Morgan Munsey. Meeting location is provided after ticket purchase, which costs $15 for members and $20 for the general public.

Bike Bonanza

Where: Canarsie Pier, Shore Parkway and Rockaway Parkway, Canarsie
When: 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Get a free bike helmet (and fitting), a bike-riding lesson or a new bike for your child at the kids' bike swap, all part of the Recycle-a-Bicycle Bike Bonanza at Canarsie Pier. The free event is open to the public and co-sponsored by the Department of Transporation.

Sunday, July 26

The DUMBO Antique Car Rally

Where: Anchorage Place between Pearl and Plymouth Street, DUMBO
When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hand-restored Model A's will be on display in DUMBO on Sunday, courtesy of the Model A Ford Club of Long Island. This is the car rally’s second year in the neighborhood and the event will also feature performances from Jan Bell and The Maybelles from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Letterpress Workshop

Where: BLDG92, 63 Flushing Ave., Brooklyn Navy Yard Center
When: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Take a tour of the antique presses inside Woodside Press studio and customize your letterpress by setting type and mixing ink colors. End the day by taking home five small posters of your own or exchange with other attendees for a colorful portfolio. Tickets are $85, $65 for members.

Parkside Empire Street Festival

Where: Flatbush Avenue from Westbury Court to Beekman Place, Prospect-Lefferts Gardens
When: 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Live drumming, a competition for the neighborhood's best chicken recipe, local musical performances, food, raffles and games for kids will be part of the first-ever Prospect Empire Street Festival put on by the area’s business improvement association.
