The Noguchi Museum is going virtual, allowing people to access its sculptures, exhibits and even its galleries through Google Cultural Institute, an online feature that lets users explore art and art institutions around the world.

The Long Island City museum, which houses the works of late artist and designer Isamu Noguchi, is featuring its past exhibits and 25 of its sculptures on the site, where users will be able to read about them and zoom in on works "at extremely close range," the museum announced on Thursday.

The site also offers a "Street View" feature that lets users virtually explore the museum and move through its galleries and sculpture garden, where they can click on the works of art that interest them to learn more about specific pieces.

The site also lets people save their favorite art to a personalized gallery page, and compare two different pieces side-by-side.

"The goal is to eventually offer a comprehensive view of works in both the ongoing installation and special exhibitions, along with enriching supplemental information," the museum said in a statement.

Google Cultural Institute has more than 170,000 pieces of art on the site from more than 60 different countries. New Yorkers can also use it to take virtual tours of MoMA, The Frick and The Met.
