JACKSON HEIGHTS — The city is counting every tree across the five boroughs, and needs your help.

Beginning Sunday, July 12, the Parks Department and the Jackson Heights Beautification Group will count the London Planes, Cornelian Cherry Dogwood, Yellowwood trees and more on the more than 100 blocks around the neighborhood.

Volunteers — who are required to take a quick online training class — will meet in front of the Post Office on 37th Avenue at 9 a.m. Sunday to join the census team.

Counting will continue on the following dates:

♦ Thursday, July 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the corner of 35th Avenue and 73rd Street

♦ Sunday, July 19 at 9 a.m.. at the corner of 34th Avenue and 79th Street

♦ Wednesday, July 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the corner of 37th Avenue and 87th Street

♦ Sunday, July 26th at 9 a.m. at 35th Avenue and 92nd Street
